Biacore Workshop

Surface Plasmon Resonance with Biacore
Methodologies & Assay optimization

University of Oslo, June 19th 2013

This workshop is aimed for researchers studying biomolecular interactions via Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) and will focus on methodologies and assay optimization.
For registration to the BioStruct workshop, contact: Ute Krengel
E-mail: ute.krengel@kjemi.uio.no

Registration deadline: June 10th

BioStruct registered PhD students will receive grants for travel and accomodation. Hotel will be booked for all travelling participants.

The aims of the workshop are to:
• Acquired theoretical and practical knowledge on the use of SPR
• Present your work with special emphasis on the methodologies you are using (or want to use) and get feedback from an expert in the field.
• Gather people (student or researchers from biostruct) using Biacore in Norway and create networking opportunities.

Program:
09.15-11.00 – SPR Theory & Applications, by Linnéa Nygren Babol and Martin Johansson, GE Healthcare
• Biacore applications –principles and typical results
• Development of Biacore assays –fundamental assay design
• Tools in assay design (this session will discuss different sensor chip, different capture techniques, buffers, regeneration solutions etc.)

11.15-12.00 – Surface plasmon resonance for lipid membranes-related studies, by Gregor Anderluh, Ljubljana

Lunch

Afternoon session

Short presentation from the participants and round-table discussions.

Participants are encouraged to send in their own data in advance.
