Cover page Organometallics

We are grateful to Organometallics to have been allowed to design the cover page of the current issue (28. Nov, 2016). As Organometallics is turning 35 this year, all covers have the theme ‘Then and Now’. Our cover focuses on the development of ‘quantum organometallics’ during the last 4 decades.

Finnfjord visit

Finnfjord visit

Today CHOCO project leader Kathrin had the possibility to visit Finnfjord, a ferro-alloy plant close to Finnsnes. Finnfjord is working together with Prof. H.C. Eilertsen’s group at UiT to reduce CO2 emissions by using algae that ‘eat’ the CO2. The algae will then become fish-feed. Several large tanks full of algae are already in place.
An extremely interesting day with people from many different disciplines, from biology to technology to philosophy and innovation.

CADIAC annual meeting

CADIAC annual meeting

The CHOCO team leaders Kathrin and Annette were participating in the annual meeting of the CO2 Activation Centre (CADIAC) in Århus Denmark, Nov. 17 to 18. We enjoyed inspiring presentations by the students participating in CADIAC as well as lectures by Matthias Beller, Ralf Jackstell and Henrik Junge from LIKAT (Germany) and Thibault Cantat from CEA -Saclay (France). Thank you to the leader of CADIAC, Troels Skrydstrup,  and the administrator Birgitte Pedersen for a fantastic meeting.
