Nordic CO2 Collaborations

Today the CHOCO team met with researchers from different Nordic countries to discuss CO2 conversion and how we can improve cross-border collaborations. The meeting was arranged by CHOCO, but hosted by the University of Uppsala. We hope this was the first of many more meetings to come!

Centre of Excellence approved!

Centre of Excellence approved!

Today the NFR announced that the Hylleraas Centre of Excellence has been approved.
CHOCO leader Hopmann is one of 8 PIs at the centre, together with Excellent researchers at UiT (Kenneth Ruud, Luca Frediani, Bjørn Olav Bransdal) and UiO (Michele Cascella, Trygve Helgaker, Thomas Bondo Pedersen, Odile Eisenstein). Together we will develop novel methods in quantum chemistry and apply them to challenging societal problems, including CO2 conversion! See also the UiT news item (in Norwegian).

CHOCO leader in iTromsø

The local newspaper iTromsø interviewed members of the March for Science organization team in Tromsø: http://www.itromso.no/nyheter/2017/03/02/Marsjerer-for-vitenskapen-14379806.ece

The journalist wanted to take our picture in front of the chaos-monument at UiT (street lamps pointing in all sorts of directions). According to him it symbolizes the scientific confusion that we want to clear up.
