Summer School  in Algebraic Statistics

Speakers

Kaie Kubjas

Kaie is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Systems Analysis at Aalto University and currently a Marie Skłodowska Curie Fellow at MIT and Sorbonne Université. Her interests are in Applied Algebraic Geometry, with applications in Statistics, Biology and Optimization. She will lecture about Algebraic methods for maximum likelihood estimation.

 

Fatemeh Mohammadi

Fatemeh is a Lecturer in the School of Mathematics at the University of Bristol since 2017. Her research interests lie in the intersection of commutative algebra, discrete geometry. She will lecture about Algebra and geometry of conditional independence statements and probabilistic graphical models.

 

Carlos Amendola

Carlos is a Postdoc in the research groups Mathematical Statistics  and Optimization and Data Analysis at TU Munich. His interests are in algebraic statistics and developments concerning Applied Algebraic Geometry. He will lecture about Signature Tensors.

 

Sonja Petrovic

Sonja is an Associate Professor of Applied Mathematics in the Department of Applied Mathematics at Illinois Institute of Technology. Her interests are in Algebraic statistics, applied and computational algebraic geometry and commutative algebra. She will lecture about The role of algebraic statistics in estimation and modeling of random graphs and networks.
