I am a PhD fellow at the Department of Medical Biology (IMB) in the Host Microbe Interactions (HMI) research group at the University of Tromsø (UiT). My background is in Molecular Biology and Microbiology. I started my current position as a PhD fellow in the DigiBiotics project in November 2017, and I try to explore the mode of action and bacterial response of newly found antibacterial compounds from the “middle-space”. I am particularly interested in pathogens and their ways of adapting against a variety of stress factors.
My research is based on wet lab work with a panel of multi-drug resistant bacteria from the ESKAPE group. With a variety of assays I try to characterize the minimal inhibitory concentrations (MICs) and mode of actions (MOA) of new antibacterial compounds. In addition I try to establish new protocols in this area.
