Johan Isaksson
- Born 1974 in Sweden
- Two children (twins, 5 years old) and a little sister scheduled for early March.
- Hobbies: Fishing, Sea kayaking, Hiking, Dreaming of the spare time we had to spend on hobbies before we got kids. The latter dominates lately. I still cook, that’s something.
- PhD in Bioorganic Chemistry (Title: Nucleic Acids NMR studies – Structure and Dynamics) from Uppsala University, 2005, Supervisors: Tatiana Maltseva (later Agback) and Jyoti Chattopadhyaya, Opponent: Douglas H. Turner, Rochester
- 2005-2009: Worked in the NMR group at Medivir AB, a small to medium sized pharmaceutical company in Stockholm
- 2009-2011: PostDoc for John Sigurd Svendsen, UiT
- 2012- Researcher, UiT. Managing the UiT NMR lab and SmallStruct.
- Scientific interests: NMR studies of Structure and Dynamics, and interactions between biomolecules and/or biomembranes.
- Main scientific activities: Structure elucidation, conformation analysis and configuration, interactions between small molecules/peptides and proteins or membranes, protein-protein interactions, protein dynamics and enzyme characterization. Drug discovery.
