The Munin Conference is an annual conference on scholarly publishing and communication, primarily revolving around open access, open data and open science, and raise and debate questions related to scholarly publishing. This year\u2019s conference (2016) is the eleventh Munin Conference and is scheduled to take place <strong>21\u201322 November 2016<\/strong> at the University of Troms\u00f8 \u2013 The Arctic University of Norway. Here you can find\u00a0the complete <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/site.uit.no\/muninconf\/?page_id=19\"><span class=\"s2\">Conference program<\/span><\/a><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><br \/>\nLast day for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/site.uit.no\/muninconf\/?page_id=21\">registration<\/a><\/strong> is November 6! And\u00a0t<\/span><span class=\"s1\">he conference is free of charge for UiT employees and students, but remember to sign up in order to get\u00a0lunch!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Keynote speakers this year will be:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/site.uit.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/535\/2016\/11\/image002.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1188 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/site.uit.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/535\/2016\/11\/image002.jpeg\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Danny Kingsley<\/strong>, Head of Scholarly Communication at University of Cambridge. Her previous role was as Executive Officer of the Australian Open Access Support Group. She has worked as a science communicator for 15 years, including two years with ABC Science Online as a journalist for News in Science. Danny will speak about <strong>Reward, reproducibility and recognition in research \u2013 the case for going Open<\/strong><b>.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/site.uit.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/535\/2016\/11\/image003.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1189 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/site.uit.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/535\/2016\/11\/image003.png\" alt=\"image003\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Stephen Curry<\/strong>, Professor of Structural Biology at Imperial College, London. He was a member of the steering\u00a0group behind <i>The\u00a0Metric Tide: Report of the Independent Review of\u00a0the Role of Metrics in Research Assessment and Management (UK)<\/i>, and has been active in the discussions after the report was published. Stephen will speak about <strong>Zen and the Art of Academic Maintenance<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Mark J. McCabe<\/strong>, Lecturer at Boston University\u2019s<a href=\"https:\/\/site.uit.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/535\/2016\/11\/image004.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1190 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/site.uit.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/535\/2016\/11\/image004.jpeg\" alt=\"image004\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a> Questrom School of Business, and a Professor\u00a0at SKEMA Business School, in Sophia Antipolis, France. In his research within the field of industrial organization he currently focuses on the economics of digital information goods markets (with a particular interest in scientific publishing) and the implications of the online environment for competition policy.
