Ion beams are also studied in laboratories world wide, with the aim to develop ion propulsion in space.\u00a0Projects in collaboration with colleagues in the Space physics group on rocket instrumentation and hypervelocity dust impact may also be offered.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">For experimental projects you need background introductory plasma physics, and knowledge from some\u00a0 of the courses\u00a0 on basic experimental physics, signal analysis, statistics,\u00a0 introductory electronics and measurement technique, will be valuable.\u00a0 Some knowledge of complex analysis, differential equations and numeric methods, as well as chemistry will also be useful.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Necessary 2000\u2013 level courses:
