Anna Silyakova, Researcher
Anna is a researcher in the Gas in the Water Column work group.
She is a physical oceanographer by training and she holds a PhD degree in chemical oceanography from the Geophysical Institute, University of Bergen. She studies greenhouse gases in the Arctic Ocean. At the moment her main focus is transport and biogeochemical cycling of dissolved methane in the water column, its’ relation to CO2, nutrient cycling, pelagic ecosystem and organic matter. Other research interests include biogeochemical processes in sea ice and air-sea gas exchange.
Anna has been on numerous research cruises to the Arctic Ocean, has experienced working on sea ice, with CO2 perturbation experiments and coupled physical-biological ecosystem models.
