PhD candidate Katarzyna Melaniuk was recently rewarded Loeblich and Tappan Student Research Award by Cushman Foundation for Foraminiferal Research in USA.<\/h4>\n

<\/p>\n

The award is in support of Melaniuk’s PhD project entitled “Assessing the relationship between\u00a0living foraminifera and methane emissions in the Arctic”.\u00a0The\u00a0award carries a monetary value of $2,000 and\u00a0a free one-year subscription to the Journal of Foraminiferal Research<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The project is a cooperation between CAGE and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution<\/a>. Melaniuk’s\u00a0supervisors are Associate Professor \u00a0Giuliana Panieri (CAGE) and Senior Scientist, Joan\u00a0M. Bernhard (WHOI).<\/p>\n

The Cushman Foundation for Foraminiferal Research<\/a>, was founded in 1950 by a group of dedicated foraminiferal researchers \u201cto promote research on foraminifera and allied organisms\u201d.<\/p>\n

Loeblich and Tappan Student Research Award<\/a>\u00a0supports undergraduate and graduate student research on any aspect of living or fossil foraminifera or other protists<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
