Welcome to the city of Tromsø, and to UiT The Arctic University of Norway

The Embassy of Canada to Norway and the Tromsø High North Cluster (THiNC) in cooperation with the Research Council of Norway and the Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Education (SIU) invite institutions, agencies and businesses to participate in the Canada-Norway Northern Innovation Initiative in Tromsø, Norway, September 22nd and 23rd, 2014.

Through this initiative, Canadian and Norwegian actors involved in Northern Innovation (Research, Science & Technology, Academic Mobility, Business Development) will have the opportunity to explore new partnerships with a range of key players and innovators.

The program starts with a lunch on September 22nd including welcoming remarks and presentations in the afternoon, followed by a dinner.  On the second day, there will be a seminar aimed at identifying synergies, opportunities, and partnerships on institutional levels in the areas of Innovation, Arctic research, science & technology, resource development, and regional development. The seminar will be followed by networking opportunities and site visits in the Tromsø area, and the event ends with a networking reception.

The Embassy of Canada would be pleased to assist in coordinating visits to other locations in Norway, the Nordic countries or the European region should there be an interest in pursuing additional opportunities in connection with the initiative.
