The PhD candidate will be part of our research project \u201cEvolutionary principles of biocatalysts from extreme environments\u201d with a special focus on catalytic activity and stability as described in more detail under <a href=\"https:\/\/site.uit.no\/cube\/about\/wp1-reaction-rates\/\">WP1<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/site.uit.no\/cube\/about\/wp2-point-mutations\/\">WP2<\/a>. The successful candidate will carry out computer simulations of enzymatic reactions using a combination of theoretical techniques. The goal is to unravel the principles involved in evolutionary adaptation to extreme environments and use these to design new biocatalyst.
