The project, <strong>Nordic-Baltic Dataverse Hub (NAISH)<\/strong>, has been awarded funding by <strong>NordForsk<\/strong> under the call for Nordic Research Infrastructure Hubs.<\/p>\n<p>The five-year project (2026\u20132030) aims to establish a sustainable framework for collaboration among research data repositories in the Nordic-Baltic region, leveraging the <strong>Dataverse<\/strong> software as a shared technological backbone. By fostering alignment, resource sharing, and innovation, the hub will strengthen the availability, interoperability, and trustworthiness of research data infrastructures across six countries: <strong>Norway, Denmark, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Latvia, and Lithuania<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The project consortium \u2013 comprising UiT The Arctic University of Norway, the Danish e-Infrastructure Consortium (DeiC), the University of Iceland, the University of the Faroe Islands, R\u012bga Stradi\u0146\u0161 University, and Kaunas University of Technology \u2013 will jointly advance key activities, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Developing shared resources and guidelines for <strong>FAIR-enabling Trustworthy Digital Repositories (TDRs)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting repositories in achieving <strong>CoreTrustSeal (re-)certification<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Integrating <strong>Artificial Intelligence (AI)<\/strong> responsibly into repository functions.<\/li>\n<li>Building <strong>human capacity<\/strong> through training programs and mentorship initiatives.<\/li>\n<li>Promoting Nordic perspectives in international networks like <strong>EOSC<\/strong>, <strong>FIDELIS<\/strong>, and the <strong>Global Dataverse Community Consortium (GDCC)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The hub will create significant Nordic added value by reducing duplication of effort, enhancing cost-effectiveness, and positioning the Nordic-Baltic region as a global leader in <strong>Open Science<\/strong> and research data management. It aligns with the <strong>FAIR and TRUST principles<\/strong>, the European Commission\u2019s guidelines on responsible AI use, and UiT\u2019s strategic commitment to openness and transparency in research.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThis project is a milestone for UiT and DataverseNO.
