Kamal Kandel is currently a student at Center for Peace Studies at Arctic University of Norway (UIT). He holds his Master’s in International Relations from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. As a research assistant together with the University of Oslo he has carried out different research projects on armed conflicts in Nepal. He has also engaged with the research related to post conflict reconstructions in Sri Lanka. His current research focus is on economic reintegration of Maoists ex-combatants in Nepal. Apart from these he has been actively engaged with the issues related to youth empowerment, leadership and development in Nepal.

His research interest includes Peace Building, Reintegration of Ex-combatant, Post conflict reconstruction and Post Conflict Transformation mainly in Nepal and Sri Lanka.
