The 18th conference of the International Study Group for Systems Biology (ISGSB) was held in Tromsø, Norway from the 24th to the 28th of September 2018 at Sommarøy Arctic Hotel Tromsø. Altogether 94 participants from more than 10 countries contributed to an exciting scientific program with topics ranging from evolutionary development over biotechnology to systems medicine. The two poster prizes of the conference were awarded to Nima Philipp Saadat, PhD student at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, and Marjan Faizi, PhD student at the Humboldt University Berlin.
