Take sturdy shoes or boots that can handle some 10 cms of freshly fallen snow (Tromsø council is geared up for clearing snow, but not continuously) and icy pavements. It is worth noting that the pavements in the city centre are heated and are thus not icy; around the conservatoire, however, this is not the case. For comfort, we recommend you bring some light indoor shoes and change into them when you arrive at the conference.

We hope you enjoy your stay in Tromsø!

(Adapted from the advice given prior to the 12th annual Munin Conference on Scholarly Publishing, Tromsø, November 2017)

Tromsø is the gateway to the Arctic.
