A Munin conference satellite event, this one-day workshop for the Norwegian network on diamond publishing will take place on 21 November 2025, UiT The Arctic University of Norway, Tromsø campus (Teorifagbygget House 1, room 1.333, 3rd floor).
The event is open and free for the network members, but you need to register. Deadline for registration is 5 November.
At this one-day event, the members of the Norwegian network on diamond publishing will come together to discuss how the institutional diamond open access publishing services in Norway can work towards common technical and editorial standards. The event will be onsite, there will be no possibility for digital participation.
We are happy to welcome two international experts that will enrich our network event: Jan Willem Wijnen and Antti-Jussi Nygård.
Jan Willem Wijnen is the head of Openjournals.nl, the national platform for publication of diamond open access journals in the Netherlands where he oversees the development of the platform, works with publishing partners and liaises with national academic organisations for support and finance, works with editorial boards to migrate or set up scholarly journals to Openjournals.nl and to modernize editorial processes, and collaborates with national scientific organisations to integrate Openjournals.nl in a sustainable way in the Dutch academic landscape. Jan Willem has previously worked for over 20 years for several commercial scientific publishers (Elsevier, Springer, Brill, Sage,…), mostly as publisher, business developer or project manager. He has also worked as Strategy Officer for SciPost, a non-profit diamond open access publisher (https://scipost.org). He has a PhD in organic chemistry.

Antti-Jussi Nygård works at the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies, where he manages two national publishing platforms: Journal.fi, hosting more than 150 Finnish scholarly journals on Open Journal Systems (OJS), and Edition.fi, which provides infrastructure for digital scholarly books using Open Monograph Press (OMP). Antti-Jussi’s work focuses on supporting editors and learned societies, advancing open access publishing practices, and ensuring sustainable, community-driven infrastructure for Finnish scholarly communication. He has been involved with the Public Knowledge Project (PKP) since 2015 and contributes to the development of OJS and related software and is a member of the PKP Technical Committee.
