Helle, who successfully defended his doctoral dissertation titled &#8220;On-chip optical nanoscopy: towards high throughput and multi-modality&#8221;. The ceremony took place on November 07th at the Department of Physics and Technology at the UiT &#8211; The Arctic University of Norway.<\/p>\n<p>\u00d8ystein showcased his knowledge and experience in the field of photonics and nanoscopy throughout the whole evaluation process, which included both a trial lecture in &#8220;chip-based Raman spectroscopy&#8221;, and his thesis defense.<\/p>\n<p>The jury committee was formed by prof. James S. Wilkinson (Optoelectronics Research Centre, University of Southampton, UK), prof. Dag Roar Hjelme (Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, NTNU &#8211; Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway), and associate prof.\u00a0Jana J\u00e1gersk\u00e1 (Faculty of Science and Technology, UiT).<\/p>\n<p>\u00d8ystein is the first candidate at Ahluwalia&#8217;s lab who obtains the degree of Ph.D. in Science.
