The ceremony took place at the Department of Physics and Technology at the UiT &#8211; The Arctic University of Norway\u00a0on December 11th, 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The evaluation process included both a trial lecture titled &#8220;super-resolution imaging through single-molecule localization&#8221;, and the dissertation defense titled &#8220;novel strategies for super-resolution fluorescence microscopy&#8221;. It was a great opportunity for Marcel to explain his outstanding work in the field of super-resolution optical microscopy.<\/p>\n<p>The jury committee was formed by\u00a0prof. Sumeet Mahajan (Institute for Life Sciences, University of Southampton, UK), prof.\u00a0Aasmund Sudb\u00f8 (Department of Technology Systems, University of Oslo, Norway), and associate prof.\u00a0Krishna Agarwal\u00a0(Department of Physics and Technology, UiT).<\/p>\n<p>Marcel is the second candidate who obtains the degree of Ph.D. in Science at Ahluwalia&#8217;s lab.
