Elise Johansen is an associate Professor at the K.G. Jebsen Centre for the Law of the Sea. Her principal interests are in the area of the law of the sea and international environmental law. She is currently researching issues related to Marine Environmental Protection and to the law of the sea and climate change. Elise publicly defended her PhD with the title “How to prevent oil pollution from foreign vessels in transit – an assessment of Norway’s coastal state jurisdiction.” in May 2013.
