The one-step synthesis of the toxic and volatile CF<sub>3<\/sub>SSCF<sub>3<\/sub>\u00a0is performed in a two-chamber reactor with simple PPh<sub>3<\/sub>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>N<\/em>-bromosuccinimide as the activator, allowing for the safe handling and tandem utilization in direct trifluoromethylthiolation reactions. The versatility of the\u00a0<em>ex-situ<\/em>\u00a0generated CF<sub>3<\/sub>SSCF<sub>3<\/sub>\u00a0is demonstrated in known electrophilic, nucleophilic, and a radical trifluoromethylthiolation reactions.
