Site-selectivity is dictated by a kinetically controlled insertion of CO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0at the initial C(sp<sup>3<\/sup>)\u2013Br site by the rapid formation of Ni(I)\u2013alkyl species, thus avoiding undesired \u03b2-hydride elimination and chain-walking processes.
