The venue for Norske historiedager is UiT, the Arctic Univeristy of Noway, Campus Tromsø. The hosts are the UiT historians, whose department is in Breiviklia (House 14) The conference, however, will take place at AUD 1 and Solhallen i the lower floor of the Teorifagshus 1. For the paralell sessions, there are lecture rooms in the same building.
The airport lies west of Campus, a ca 10 minutes ride by taxi. Also from the airport, the Airport Express runs both to Campus (albeit rarely) and to the City centre, where it stops by the major hotels. The UiT Campus is 5 km from the City centre, again only a 10 minutes ride by taxi or bus. For overview of bus schedules, please consult the timetables. Line 20, 21 og 33/34 runs between the City centre and Campus, where the bus will halt by House 24 and House 23.
Registration and accommodation
The deadline for submission of panel(paper/poster was June 15th 2021
The deadline for registering for the conference was August 1st 2021. The conference fee is NOK 1600,- An invoice will be sent to your stated invoice address (fakturaadresse). If in need to cancel the registration, please do so by email. NB! Please note that after the deadline August 1st, the conference fee is non-refundable.
Tromsø has a wide range of accommodation options. Normally, these are filled with tourists, but covid-19 has effectively done away with that – at least for a while. In any case, we advice to book accommodation as soon as possible. We have reserved a number of rooms at a few key hotels, please see the menu page Overnatting. In order to book these rooms, you need the reference codes stated in the receipt you get when registering for the conference (or contact the organizers by email). Notably, participants are of course free to book independently according to their own preferences.
The conference offers a pre-excursion at Trondenes/Harstad (NOK 500,-) on Thursday September 2. Please note that participants will have to organize their own travel accordingly. All lecture rooms are equipped with PC and projector, with the option of connecting a memorystick or your own computer.

If you need printing services, please contact the conference secretariat. To get wifi, you may connect to Eduroam. Another option is to connect to the UiT-guest network (Norwegian phonenumber required)
