The Border Culture/Border Poetics Research Group sets out to develop theoretical and practical strategies for examining the function of literary, artistic and other forms of representation in the intersection between territorial borders and aesthetic works.
The group has regular research cooperation (videoconferences, visits) with Grensprojek/Boundaries Project, North-West University, Potchefstroom, South Africa.
The group also runs the KULVER research project Border Aesthetics (2010-2013), which includes a Mediterranean focus, with work on African cultural contacts and migrants.
