It was organized and chaired by Francesco D&#8217;Amato and Erik Kerstel. The conference had keynote speakers such as Marlan O. Scully, Ursula Keller, John E. Kitching, and Tobias Kippenberg and featured many interesting presentations and posters featuring different spectroscopy methods and applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our group was represented by two contributions targetting on-chip detection of carbon dioxide and methane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"996\" height=\"395\" src=\"https:\/\/site.uit.no\/onchipsensing\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/362\/2022\/09\/Logo_FLAIR2022_996px.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-771\" srcset=\"https:\/\/site.uit.no\/onchipsensing\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/362\/2022\/09\/Logo_FLAIR2022_996px.jpeg 996w, https:\/\/site.uit.no\/onchipsensing\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/362\/2022\/09\/Logo_FLAIR2022_996px-300x119.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/site.uit.no\/onchipsensing\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/362\/2022\/09\/Logo_FLAIR2022_996px-768x305.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 996px) 100vw, 996px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>CO<sub>2<\/sub> isotope detection in the MIR with free-standing thin-film SiN<sub>x<\/sub> waveguides<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Jehona Salaj<\/strong>, Marek Vlk, Henock D. Yallew, Jens H\u00f8vik, Astrid Aksnes, Jana J\u00e1gersk\u00e1<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this work ,we presented a SiNx photonic crystal waveguide with a high confinement factor in air capable of detecting the two most abundant isotopes of carbon dioxide, 626 and 636. We presented a limit of detection of 30 ppb and a <sup>13<\/sup>CO<sub>2<\/sub>\/<sup>12<\/sup>CO<sub>2<\/sub> isotope ratio measured with a precision of 0.33. This is the first isotope measurement using on-chip spectroscopy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Methane absorption sensing at 3\u00b5m using silicon-on-insulator (SOI) slot waveguide<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Henock Demessie Yallew<\/strong>, Marek Vlk, Anurup Datta, Sebasti\u00e1n Alberti, Jens H\u00f8vik, Astrid Aksnes, Martin M\u00f8ller Greve, Jana J\u00e1gersk\u00e1<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here we presented an SOI slot waveguide for methane detection with a confinement factor \u0393=69% and a 1 ppm limit of detection (lower than the atmospheric concentration).
