The Centre for Peace Studies (CPS) is the only university-based peace center in Norway with a major objective of conducting critical and interdisciplinary research, teaching, and dissemination in peace and conflict studies. It is a part of the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Education comprising of research and teaching staff of a varied background from different areas and disciplines including political science and international relations, sociology, anthropology, psychology, and history.
Today the Centre has 14 in-house staff members, including 3 postdoctoral and 2 Ph.D. research fellows, participating in teaching, research, and outreach activities. Through its two-year English-taught interdisciplinary Master of Peace and Conflict Transformation program (MPCT), CPS recruits students from all over the world and train them in critical peace and conflict studies.
