Vincent DeLuca is an Associate Professor of Linguistics at UiT. His research is focused on how different aspects of bilingual language experience variably impact brain structure, function, and several cognitive processes. His work focuses on how these neural and cognitive adaptations dynamically shift over time and with changes to patterns of language use.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jason Rothman is a Jason Rothman is Professor in Psycholinguistics and Cognitive Science<\/span> at Lancaster University (UK). He works on language acquisition, processing, and language-associated links to neurocognition in children and adults, especially in various bi-\/multilingual populations. He is the founding editor of the journal Linguistic Approaches to Bilingualism<\/em> and executive editor of the book series Studies in Bilingualism.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anders Gabrielsen is a Doctoral Research Fellow at UiT. His research primarily focuses on how different aspects of bilingual language experience variably impact the brain and its associated cognitive processes. He studies how these neural and cognitive adaptations dynamically shift over time and with changes to patterns of language use, using behavioral experiment designs and EEG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Katherine J. Sendek<\/strong> (katherine.sendek@uit.no<\/a>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Katie Sendek is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UiT. Her project applies a complementary neural measure to questions about multilingual experience. Time\u2013frequency analyses usually focus on oscillatory (periodic) activity, but the aperiodic (broadband) component of the neural power spectrum \u2014 which contains most spectral power \u2014 has recently emerged as an informative marker of overall signal organization and excitation\/inhibition balance. Although this measure has proven useful in work on development, cognition, language, and aging, it has been underused in multilingualism.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
