His research is focused on how different aspects of bilingual language experience variably impact brain structure, function, and several cognitive processes. Sendek<\/strong> <em>(<a href=\"mailto:katherine.sendek@uit.no\">katherine.sendek@uit.no<\/a>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-44ff1a72f3827ddbfaf4063f20bb8d93 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#000000\">Katie Sendek is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UiT. Her project applies a complementary neural measure to questions about multilingual experience. Time\u2013frequency analyses usually focus on oscillatory (periodic) activity, but the aperiodic (broadband) component of the neural power spectrum \u2014 which contains most spectral power \u2014 has recently emerged as an informative marker of overall signal organization and excitation\/inhibition balance.
