{"id":47,"date":"2019-04-11T13:05:37","date_gmt":"2019-04-11T11:05:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/site.uit.no\/polar\/?page_id=47"},"modified":"2025-01-17T14:17:40","modified_gmt":"2025-01-17T13:17:40","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/site.uit.no\/polar\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome to the PoLaR Lab!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <strong>P<\/strong>sycholinguistics <strong>o<\/strong>f <strong>L<\/strong>anguage <strong>R<\/strong>epresentation (<strong>PoL<\/strong>a<strong>R<\/strong>) lab is one of the associated labs under the <a href=\"https:\/\/uit.no\/research\/clabl\">Center for Language, Brain and Learning<\/a> (C-LaBL) in the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.uit.no\/enhet\/isk?p_dimension_id=210121\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Department of Language and Culture<\/a> at UiT the Arctic University of Norway. PoLaR houses state of the art equipment and laboratory space that facilitate our members\u2019 work in bi-\/multilingual language acquisition and linguistic processing, the cognitive neuroscience of language and the interface between multilingualism and domain-general cognitive and neuro-anatomical changes to the brain across the lifespan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Work in our lab is generously funded via projects from the <a href=\"https:\/\/commission.europa.eu\/index_en\">European Commission<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forskningsradet.no\/en\/\">Norwegian Research Council<\/a> and the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/tfstiftelse.no\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Troms\u00f8 Forskningsstiftelse<\/a>. We work with populations across the lifespan, from very young children to older aged adults.
