Alle m\u00e5 finne sin egen vei og sitt eget m\u00e5l for \u00e5 kunne leve livet slik en \u00f8nsker seg uten \u00e5 bli hindret av psykisk uhelse og problemene som rus.<\/p>\n<p>Grunnlaget for recovery er at alle mennesker har ressurser, \u00f8nsker, dr\u00f8mmer og m\u00e5l.<\/p>\n<p>En av de mest kjente definisjonene p\u00e5 Recovery er av den amerikanske psykologen William A. Anthony:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab Recovery er en dypt personlig, unik prosess med endring av egne holdninger, verdier f\u00f8lelser, m\u00e5l og ferdigheter og\/eller roller. Det er en m\u00e5te \u00e5 leve et liv p\u00e5 som er tilfredsstillende, deltakende og fylt av h\u00e5p, selv med de begrensninger som lidelsen for\u00e5rsaker. Alle personer er ekspert p\u00e5 seg selv og har den beste kjennskap til sine utfordringer. Eksempler p\u00e5 dette er rett til \u00e5 bestemme selv hvor en skal bo, og hvordan en skal bruke sin egen tid.<\/p>\n<p><strong>H\u00e5p<\/strong> &#8211; Troen p\u00e5 at livet kan bli bedre er avgj\u00f8rende for vilje til gj\u00f8re endringer, og for \u00e5 v\u00e5ge \u00e5 forf\u00f8lge sine dr\u00f8mmer og sine \u00f8nsker<\/p>\n<p><strong>Identitet<\/strong> &#8211; Folk er alltid mer enn en &#8220;rusmisbruker eller &#8220;psykisk syk&#8221;. Fortsatt opplever mange mennesker marginalisering og stigma b\u00e5de fra arbeidslivet, sosiale kontekster og helsetjenestene. Recovery er en vei mot et positivt forhold til seg selv, fri fra &#8220;merkelapper&#8221; og opplevelsen av \u00e5 v\u00e6re mer enn sin lidelse og sine problemer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mening<\/strong> &#8211; Vi trenger og erfare at v\u00e5rt bidrag betyr noe b\u00e5de for medmennesker og samfunnet\u00e5 kunne v\u00e6re en som gir noe tilbake og hjelpe andre i stede for \u00e5 v\u00e6re den som mottar hjelp<\/p>\n<p><strong>Samh\u00f8righet<\/strong> &#8211; erfaringen av \u00e5 v\u00e6re en del av et felleskap er viktig, det kan v\u00e6re b\u00e5de det \u00e5 m\u00f8te andre med like utfordringer og kjenne p\u00e5 f\u00f8lelsen av \u00e5 v\u00e6re i samme b\u00e5t,\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00c5 snakke om bedring og recovery knytter mennesker sammen, det kan bidra til \u00e5 finne mening i vonde erfaringer og inspirere til h\u00e5p.
