He earned his Ph.D. in English at the University of California, Berkeley, 1998. Greg\u2019s areas of specialization include postcolonial literature and theory, twentieth-century US literature, Marxism, utopian studies, critical race theory, gender studies, and psychoanalysis. He has taught courses in History and Utopia: Global Historical and Speculative\/Science Fictions, Postcolonial Historical Fiction, Modern American Literature, Modernist Masculinities, and Global Contemporary Literature. Greg publishes widely in his field and is the author of three books:\u00a0<em>Murdering Masculinities: Fantasies of Gender and Violence in the American Crime Novel<\/em>\u00a0(2000);\u00a0<em>Gender, Race, and Mourning in American Modernism<\/em>\u00a0(2011); and\u00a0<em>Critique and Utopia in Postcolonial Historical Fiction: Atlantic and Other Worlds<\/em>\u00a0(2019).
