paperback 2018),\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.routledge.com\/Phenomenology-of-the-Broken-Body\/Dahl-Falke-Eriksen\/p\/book\/9781138616004\">Phenomenology of the Broken Body<\/a><\/em>\u00a0\u00a0( co-ed 2019), and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.routledge.com\/Wild-Romanticism\/Poetzsch-Falke\/p\/book\/9780367496722\">Wild Romanticism<\/a>\u00a0(co-ed, 2021).\u00a0In articles and book chapters, she has also written about Romantic-period literature, class, education, contemporary phenomenology and the portrayal of violence in literature.<\/p>\n<p>She is the recipient of a Fulbright professorship, two NEH awards, and a Distinguished Professor designation for teaching.\u00a0She led the NOH-HS funded network,\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/site.uit.no\/violence\/\">Interpreting Violence: Narrative, Ethics and Hermeneutics<\/a>\u00a0and is a partner in the project\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/instrumentalnarratives.wordpress.com\/\"><em>Instrumental Narratives: The Limits of Storytelling and New Story-Critical Narrative Theory<\/em><\/a>\u00a0.\u00a0She is the President of the American Studies Association of Norway and leads UiT\u00b4s Interdisciplinary Phenomenology research group.\u00a0Her current book project is entitled\u00a0<em>The Reader as Witness: Seeing Political Violence through Contemporary Novels<\/em>\u00a0.\u00a0She currently leads the project\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/site.uit.no\/readrespond\/\">ReadRespond: Literature \/ History \/ Human Rights<\/a>, an international, online reading initiative encouraging discussions of rights-engaged literature.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cassandra Falke\u00a0 Cassandra Falke is a Professor of English Literature at UiT.\u00a0She specializes in English romanticism and literary theory.\u00a0Her books include\u00a0\u00a0Intersections in Christianity and Critical Theory\u00a0\u00a0(ed. 2010),\u00a0\u00a0Literature by the\u00a0\u00a0Working Class: English Autobiography, 1820-1848\u00a0\u00a0(2013),\u00a0\u00a0The Phenomenology of Love and Reading\u00a0\u00a0 (2016;
