She is an inmate of a Russian orphanage, even when she is not an orphan. Tasha believes that her mother is dead and that her father is in jail for life. To survive, she has found a Russian stepmother at the orphanage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One day her biological mother suddenly calls her. Tasha is afraid since the authorities had declared her mother dead by a drug overdose several years ago. Her mother claims that she is now drug-free. Tasha has mixed feelings for this newfound &laquo;mother&raquo;. She is longing to have a mother of her own, but still, she is afraid. At the end of the film, Tasha reaches the most difficult crossroads of her life. She has to make a decision that will have an enormous impact on the rest of her life. Will she become a Sami by choosing to live with her biological mother, or should she become a Russian by choosing a life with the Russian foster mother appointed by the orphanage?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the background of Tasha&#8217;s fate lurks the greater global narrative about the &laquo;stolen generations&raquo;. Children belonging to different indigenous peoples all over the world were &laquo;stolen&raquo; and placed in orphanages hoping that they will be assimilated into the majority population. In North America and Australia, the &laquo;stolen children&raquo; constitute a relatively large population group. For years the authorities in the English-speaking former colonies have been devoting a great deal of effort to finding ways to achieve reconciliation. Her produserer den unge fabrikkarbeideren Josephine unrueh hjulet, det tikkende hjertet i den mekaniske klokken. Utsatt for nye m\u00e5ter \u00e5 organisere kapital, tid og arbeid p\u00e5, engasjerer hun seg i den lokale bevegelsen til de anarkistiske urmakerne, hvor hun m\u00f8ter den russiske reisende Pyotr Kropotkin, hvis egne politiske interesser blir viklet inn i kampene til byens arbeidere. Handlingen f\u00f8lger den amerikanske sirkusartisten Marion Dixon, som opptrer med nummeret&nbsp;<em>Fly til m\u00e5nen<\/em>. Hennes tyske impressario, Franz von Kneischitz, utnytter og truer henne ved \u00e5 avsl\u00f8re hemmeligheten hennes \u2013 en m\u00f8rkhudet s\u00f8nn. I Sovjetunionen finner hun kj\u00e6rlighet og en ny tilv\u00e6relse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Filmen kombinerer humor, drama og musikk p\u00e5 en imponerende m\u00e5te. Isaak Dunaevskijs&nbsp;<em>Sangen om fedrelandet<\/em>&nbsp;ble en av de mest ikoniske sovjetiske melodiene og&nbsp;var til og med p\u00e5 tale som&nbsp;nasjonalsang.&nbsp;<em>Sirkus<\/em>&nbsp;var ogs\u00e5 den f\u00f8rste filmen som viste Moskvas nye t-bane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Til tross for sin politiske agenda forblir&nbsp;<em>Sirkus<\/em>&nbsp;en av 1930-tallets mest minneverdige sovjetiske filmer, med mesterlig skuespill og tidl\u00f8s musikk. Filmen markerer starten p\u00e5 den kasakhiske nyb\u00f8lgen og har blitt en kultklassiker. Hovedrollen spilles av den legendariske rockemusikeren Viktor Tsoj, som fikk stor anerkjennelse for sin tolkning av den mystiske vandreren Moro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Handlingen f\u00f8lger Moro, som vender tilbake til Alma-Ata for \u00e5 kreve inn gjeld, men oppdager at hans tidligere kj\u00e6reste, Dina, er fanget i narkotikamisbruk. Han fors\u00f8ker \u00e5 redde henne ved \u00e5 ta henne med til den utt\u00f8rkede Aralsj\u00f8en, et sterkt symbol p\u00e5 Sovjetunionens \u00f8kologiske krise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Om regien av&nbsp;<em>N\u00e5len<\/em>&nbsp;sa Nugmanov: &laquo;Jeg pr\u00f8vde \u00e5 frigj\u00f8re filmen (scener, dialoger, handling) s\u00e5 mye som mulig fra all symbolikk, for \u00e5 gj\u00f8re den til et tomt kar som hver seer kunne fylle med sin egen tolkning.&raquo;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Filmen ble et fenomen i Perestrojka-tiden og bidro til \u00e5 popularisere Tsoj og hans band Kino.
