The overall goal of our Plamu project is to develop a comprehensive integrated management plan for the Listuguj river estuary and watershed. What is different about this project (from other canadian-state led ‘integrated fisheries management’ initiatives) is that we are working with local indigenous advisory committee in critically reviewing and re-conceptualizing the way we govern and manage salmon fisheries within our traditional territorial waterways.
