Anna Endresen

Project member, Norway

Anna Endresen holds a combined position as Research Professor and University Lecturer at the Department of Language and Culture at UiT The Arctic University of Norway. She is an applied linguist and language instructor with over a decade of experience in teaching Russian as a foreign language. Holding a PhD in Cognitive Linguistics (2015), Endresen specializes in usage-based language studies, Construction Grammar, and the development of digital and AI-driven resources for learners of Russian and Norwegian. With Svetlana Sokolova, she co-edited Collaboration Beyond the Classroom: Undergraduate Research in Russian Language Studies (2022). Over several years, Endresen contributed to the development of The Russian Constructicon, a collaborative project that has built a database of 4,000 constructions. Drawing on this work, she led the development of Construxercise! (2022), a comprehensive digital resource for teaching Russian conversation through a construction-based approach. Endresen currently explores how Pedagogical Construction Grammar can be integrated with advances in AI technology to create interactive conversation tutors that enhance fluency and address individual learners’ needs in professional contexts. As the STEP member, she has been Chair of the organizing committee for the CALP conference hosted at UiT.
