Dear colleagues, Dear students, dear all who are part of the VISCAM project,<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The fourth VISCAM workshop is approaching! It<\/span><\/span> will be held at the University of Maroua from January 10 to 15, 2021. In Maroua preparations are already underway. We hope and believe this year’s edition will be as successful as all the previous. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

As in previous years, the seminar will feature the following program elements:<\/strong> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

1) Film screenings – all films made last year under the auspices of the program. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2) Display of images and recordings made by masters and doctoral students during their fieldwork. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

3) Presentation of articles related to the Call for Paper. (see below) <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Due to the COVID situation, this year’s workshop will be different from those held in previous years. There will be no visitors from Norway to Cameroon. The Norwegian participants will participate online via Zoom. This brings some challenges for the seminar:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding points 1 and 2<\/strong>
\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Those of you who are supposed to present films and images must make a 30 minutes selection showing important situations \/ processes from their fieldwork. Students to whom this applies will be informed in more detail by their home university as to how this should be organized. The material should be uploaded to VIMEO or sent by FILESENDER. Due to an unstable internet connection it is not possible to watch movies and images via Zoom \/ WhatsApp \/ Teams using the screen sharing function. Therefore, it is very important that all the films and other material are prepared for transmission before 05.01.21. The material is supposed to be presented to VISCAM coordinators in Maroua and Ngaound\u00e9r\u00e9.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding point 3 – presentation of the research.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The VISCAM project is now in its final phase and the results of many interesting research projects that have been carried out during this period will be presented. This has been the original aim of the project .<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Call for contribution \/ Call for paper (CFP)<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cChanging strategies and livelihoods in northern Cameroon\u201d. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Based on empirical studies, these contributions will elucidate how climate change, migration, conflict and other forms of insecurity affect livelihoods in the region. After the seminar, we, the Scientific Committee of VISCAM, will consider whether the quality of the contributions is high enough to be published in a special issue of the journal Annales de la FALSH.<\/em> We expect you to send the summary for an article to the three coordinators Mouazamou, Moussima and Waage by January 6 at the latest. The final program will be available on January 8. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
