Research team

Project leader: Dr. Jan Ove Bustnes, senior scientist at the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (NINA) in Tromsø, Northern Norway.

Jan Ove Bustnes has long experience in avian ecology and ecotoxicology in general, and  more specifically  has excellent  expertise  in  investigating pollution  stress in avian  top predatory species.

Dr. Bård-Jørgen Bårdsen, senior scientist at NINA Tromsø, is a quantitative ecologist who is in charge of statistical data analysis and theoretical modelling.

Dr. Dorte Herzke, senior scientist at NILU Tromsø and adjunct professor at UiT, is an environmental chemist who is interested in contaminant fate, exposure and effects to organisms.

Dr. Sophie Bourgeon, associate professor in arctic marine ecotoxicology at UiT, is an ecophysiologist interested in the physiological effects of persistent organic pollutants of vertebrates.

Phd candidate Elisabeth Hansen is investigating the physiological and ecological effects of organic and inorganic contaminants in marine and terrestrial raptor species.

Dr. Igor Eulaers, post-doctoral researcher at the Norwegian Polar Institute, has long empirical and in silico expertise in wildlife and food web ecotoxicology and biogeochemistry.

Dr. Clementine Fritsch, is a research scientist (CNRS, France) specialized in terrestrial top predators, landscape ecotoxicology and stress ecology.

Georg Bangjord is a nature consultant who has been in charge of fieldwork on tawny owls and goldeneye ducks in the Trondheim area.
