The new Nordplus application for 2022-2023 is Global Teaching for Sustainable Society (GLOSS) (to be reviewed spring 22)

Global Teaching for Sustainable Society (GLOSS) is a new Nordic initiative to strategically bring together more Nordic institutions which are involved with offering student teachers both virtual and/or physical mobility with our partners in the Global South.  In this project, we need to elaborate upon how the Nordic teacher education institutions together can develop intercultural competence and concrete challenges connected to UN’s sustainable development goals (SDG) by bringing our students together virtually and physically. Few academic staff in each teacher education work with the Global South in the Nordic countries. We will share knowledge, competence and build competence thought the Network development project. The partners have teacher students from various disciplines, such as early childhood education and care (ECEC), special education, primary and secondary education.

The development project GLOSS will create and develop course modules, and prepare students for physical and virtual exchange with partners in the Global South. Thus, the overall purpose of this development project is a joint Nordic effort to develop international teacher education practicums that support multicultural and global learning outcomes for students and lead to more competent teachers for the future global classroom.
