Nordic exceptionalism & decoloniality in education

Hosted by Joffy Conolly, University of Oulu, Finland

In this 1½ hour webinar, presented by the GLOSS (Global teaching for a sustainable society) research network, we will explore the concept of Nordic exceptionalism and its effect on education.

An initial presentation will present key points from a new article titled Beyond exceptionalism: Decolonising the Nordic educational mindset, after which participants will engage in a short group activity and discussion. The session will conclude with a 40-minute panel discussion with four of the article authors, bringing in perspectives from Denmark, Finland, Norway & Sweden.
