q6
How do you add geolocation metadata to records based on geographical information in the metadata?
- The Search by map is using a backend database (geolocation database) of 270,000 existing locations from the polar regions.
- A machine learning algorithm is used to search all the records (article, database, book, etc.) against the geolocation database.
- If your record does include geographic information (e.g., name of a city or region) enough to pick it up, the record will be enriched with geolocation metadata and appear using the Search by map tool.
