Teppo Rämä is a mycologist and researcher working with arctic marine fungi. Teppo’s passion for fungi has its roots in the childhood, when he was introduced to picking edible mushrooms with the family. Teppo received his MSc in plant ecology at University of Oulu, Finland, in 2008 and his PhD at University of Tromsø – The Arctic University of Norway in 2014. After the dissertation he has been working as a researcher focusing on fungal biosystematics and the three last years as a post-doctoral research fellow in marine biodiscovery. Teppo is interested in the diversity and biology of fungi, and especially the species that are found in the marine environment. In his spare time, Teppo spends time outdoors and on ice playing hockey.
