On-chip Trace Gas Sensing Days in Tromsø – Seminar and Kick-off
The joint project kick-off for the projects: sCENT, UiTrace and MICRO-Sense was held in Tromsø on the 23rd to 24th of August. We were delighted to see that several representatives from the local scientific research communities: CAGE/UiT, Norut, NILU, SINTEF and NEO Monitors; and our international collaborators from University of Southampton, ENS de Lyon and Ulm University joined the celebration and discussions about the projects.
As part of the program, a seminar was held by Prof. Boris Mizaikoff from Ulm University, Germany, on the topic “Recent Advancements in Mid-Infrared Sensing Technology: From Biodiagnostics to Extreme Environments.”.
The Institute of Physics and Technology at UiT organized a social get-together withsparkling wine and cake to celebrate the secured funding and start of projects, with speeches given by Odd Erik Garcia and Annfrid Sivertsen.
Social highlight of the event was an evening spent fishing and sailing in the beautiful mountain landscapes around Tromsø, followed by dinner at Fiskekompaniet.
