Arctic SIZE’s Living Ice exhibition, launched in 2017 in collaboration with the Polar Museum, graphic designer Ola Reibo,  Ann Eileen Lennert, and Jørgen Berge, has now moved on and into the huge hall of the new Fram Center.

Through additional collaboration with Silje Gaupseth and funding support from UiT and BFE, Arctic SIZE presented this new transformed exhibition to a new audience in a new venue. To communicate the multifaceted Arctic life, pictures, text, and surprising effects are hidden in freezers and fridges of different shapes and sizes to invite exploration of the unknown.

For the inauguration of this Living Ice II, Rolf gave a great presentation of the SIZE group and the associated science that has motivated the exhibition by underlining three important foci of the Arctic SIZE group; 1) Investigation of seasonal ice zone processes and ecology, with dedicated effort from six excellent PhD and post docs, 2) The importance of international collaboration and Pan-Arctic Integration, and 3) the leadership in national and international research initiatives that is carried out by members of Arctic SIZE.

The transformed Living Ice exhibition received a lot of attention, and enthusiastic comments from the audience that participated in the opening of the Fram II building.
