During the annual meeting of the Norwegian marine researcher association (Norges Havforskerforening), marine researchers from Norway convened in Tromsø. The first day focused on making ecological research more relevant to society, politics, and stakeholders. The second day was filled with interesting talks about ongoing coastal research, including spatial planning, impacts of microplastics, global warming and invasive species and new methods. Tobias Vonnahme presented the first results from the Ramfjord project about communities and activities of microalgae over the polar night.
