We have now returned to Norway and back to our normal daily routine. There are many experiences and memories to take in. We have been eager to tell our friends and family about the past month. The last week in Port Elizabeth was spent to say goodbye to all our new friends and family. We got to attend the 7th-grade farewell, where we enjoyed delicious food, dancing, and wore beautiful dresses. All the 7th graders dressed up in their finest clothes and looked absolutely fantastic. On the last day at school, the entire school gathered to say goodbye. It was a lovely moment with speeches, songs and dancing.

It was a sad but meaningful experience to say goodbye to the school and our workplace. This practice period has been truly unique, and we are left with so many new experiences, impressions, and lessons. We have met many students from different backgrounds who have left a strong impression on us. The students greeted us with smiles, songs, and hugs every morning. It has been rewarding to teach as the students showed great enthusiasm and interest in the lessons.

The teachers and staff at Machiu Primary School have taken excellent care of us during this period and worked to ensure that we experienced the South African culture. They took us to various events. We went on a safari with some of the teachers, watched the World Cup final in rugby (which South Africa won), went to a food market, and had pleasant dinners together.

The four weeks of practicum in South-Africa opened our eyes. We are incredibly grateful for the experience and for all the wonderful people we have met, who have now become our friends. We hope that one day we will have the opportunity to return to the city, the school, and the lovely people.
