Information for all accepted abstracts

The accepted abstracts have been published in Septentrio Conference Series and linked to the Munin programme. Slides, posters and other supporting materials will be uploaded to the abstracts after the conference by the conference committee.

When preparing the material to be presented at the conference (slides, posters, etc.), make sure the content of the files can be distributed under a CC BY license. You should also include your abstract’s DOI into the materials (find the DOI in Septentrio Conference Series).

See additional information for a specific session format below. For other conference-related information, see Participant Guide.

Presentations

All presentations will be streamed.

Most of the presentations during this year’s Munin conference will run in parallel sessions. Parallel sessions will include 25-minute presentations (incl. a Q&A of at least 5 minutes) and 10-minute presentations with supporting posters (these presentations do not have associated Q&A). As you can see in the programme, parallel presentation sessions have 5-minute breaks between each presentation – this is to allow the audience to change auditoria if they want.

The plenary session on November 20, 12:40–14:20, will consist of 30-minute presentations (incl. a Q&A of at least 5 minutes) and will not contain breaks between presentations.

If you intend to use slides for your presentation, these must be in an accessible format, both for the conference audience and for readers of Septentrio Conference Series (where your slides will be made available after the conference). Basic points about accessibility:

  • Do not use very small fonts.
  • Provide alternative text for images.
  • Use the built-in templates in your presentation software.
  • Use the built-in functionality in your presentation software to check your slides for accessibility (in MS PowerPoint this function is called “Check Accessibility”).
  • Use high-contrast colours, avoid combining colours that can be mistaken by people with colour-blindness (read about Confusion colours).
  • If colour is used to communicate information (highlights in text, diagram/graph segments), supply it with additional marking. Highlights can be supplied with font modifications (for people with a colour vision deficiency) or code (for people with screen readers). Diagram segments can, in addition to colour, have text labels or different patterns.

Slides can be sent to muninconference@ub.uit.no on 16 November 2025 at the latest. If you have not sent your slides to the Munin email before 17 November, you will be able to transfer the slides to the auditorium’s stationary computer via a USB stick – no later than in the break before your presentation. If your presentation contains video/sound, remember to save the video/sound in the same location as the presentation file.

Use of own laptop for presentations

All presentations and panels in the conference auditoria will be streamed – for streaming purposes, it is preferable that you use the stationary computers.

If you do decide to use your own laptop, and your presentation is in Auditorium 1 (the programme will indicate where your session will take place), you will need to consult the filming team whether your laptop has a proper connection at the latest two breaks before your presentation. Please also inform the conference committee beforehand that you intend to use your own laptop.

Posters

Posters should have portrait orientation. Maximum size for the physical poster is A0:

  • height: 118.9 cm / 46.8 in
  • width: 84.1 cm / 33.1 in

You will be able to hang up your posters at the designated spots during registration and morning coffee on the first day of the conference.

Poster sessions will take place on November 18 and 19 during the afternoon coffee breaks. Poster presenters are expected to be at their posters during the sessions. Poster presenters will also be able to give a 1-minute pitch of their poster in a plenary session on November 18, at 11:05 (see programme). The order of the pitches will follow the list of the confirmed posters.

A digital version of your poster will be published in Septentrio Conference Series, together with your abstract. You will need to send a PDF version of your poster to muninconference@ub.uit.no by 16 November. There are no specific formatting requirements for digital posters, but do remember accessible design.

For reasons of accessibility (graphical elements in a poster usually do not render themselves well to screen readers), we will allow short text versions of the posters. Note that this short text version can communicate in text form only what is visible on the poster. If you wish to submit a text version of your poster in addition to the poster itself, use this Word template.

Printing your poster via UiT’s Print office

If you do not wish to travel with your poster, you can order it to be printed at UiT’s Print office. To order, send a PDF of your poster to trykkeriet@uit.no, with “Munin poster” as part of the email subject. The deadline to order poster printing is the 10th of November.

You will be able to collect your poster at the conference venue during the registration on the morning of 18 November. The price is NOK 500 (incl. VAT), to be paid with a credit card when you collect the poster. (UiT employees can log on with Feide for internal invoicing.)

Workshops

This year’s Munin will have a session of parallel workshops on day 1 and 2 of the conference. Participation in the workshops will be onsite only. Rooms are indicated in the programme.

Workshops will have a duration of 90 minutes. The workshop slot in the programme will include a 10-minute break that the workshop organizers can schedule where they see fit. We strongly recommend that the workshop organizers not skip over the break.

Workshop organisers have to inform the conference committee before the conference about any materials they would need for the workshop (we encourage workshop organisers to bring materials with them, if possible).

Panel discussions

A panel will last for 60 minutes. Each panel participant will deliver a lightning talk of 5–7 minutes. The lightning talks will be followed by a discussion with questions from the moderator and the audience. Panel discussions will take place in the plenary session and will be streamed.

If you intend to use slides for your lightning talk, please follow the formatting instructions for Presentations (see above). Lightning talk slides must be sent to the contact person responsible for panels on the 13th of November at the latest.
