FAMARB: Facility Management of Residential Buildings in Barents region held its working meetings at NArFU.
On June 5-6, a series of meetings was held at NArFU by FAMARB: Facility Management of Residential Buildings in Barents region, a project funded EU-Russia Kolarctic CBC 2014-2020.
The meetings were contributed by experts from partner universities – UiT — The Arctic University of Norway, Oulu University of Applied Sciences, and Swedish Research Institute. In this project, NArFU is represented by a team of experts and researchers of the Higher School of Engineering and the Higher School of Power Engineering, Oil and Gas. The coordinator of the project on the Russian side is NArFU Department of International Cooperation.
The meetings have presented the intermediate progress and were followed by tours around the Higher School of Engineering’s laboratory, Center for Power Innovations, and NArFU hostel, the latter being a demo site for the project to decide which technologies would suit best to make it more energy-efficient. The tasks before the project team include developing recommendations on how to improve the indoor climate and reduce the environmental impact of the hostel; methods to assess its technical condition and rationale for refurbishment (overhaul, repairs, reconstruction); recommendations on operation and maintenance technologies for the current facilities under development; energy monitoring and facility management systems.
The next project meeting is scheduled to take place in Oulu in January 2020.
