The Icebreaker
The icebreaker (Monday 2nd, 18:00-20:00) will be held in the newly renovated Department of Geosciences at UiT The Arctic University of Norway.

The Conference
Scientific sessions will take place at UiT The Arctic University of Norway within the Medicine and Health Studies (MH) building.
Find us in MH1 U6.Store auditorium or the Lysgården – view location on the campus Mazemap.
The Conference Dinner
The conference dinner (Tuesday 3rd, 19:30) will be held in Tromsø sentrum at Charly’s Restaurant and Bar. Use the main entrance of the Radisson Blu Hotel and either take the stairs or the elevator to the 2nd floor.
Getting to the conference and icebreaker
Icebreaker: The two closest bus stops are “UiT/Planetariet” and “Gjennomgangsbygget” both of which are a short 3-5 minute walk from the building.
To get to “Gjennomgangsbygget” from the city centre you can take bus number 24 from Fredrik Langes Gate.
To get to “UiT/Planetariet” from the city centre you can take buses number 20, 21, or 34 from Smørtorget.
Conference: The most convenient bus stop is “UiT“, the next stop after “UiT/Planetariet” (see above).
A single ticket costs NOK 48 during rush hours. Outside rush hour (weekdays 09:00-14:00 and 17:00-01:00), the cost is reduced to NOK 26. A 24-hour bus pass costs NOK 133, while a 7-day bus pass costs NOK 311.
The easiest way to buy tickets is to download the ‘Svipper’ app, which will also allow you to plan your journey and see a map of the bus stops. Note: You cannot buy tickets on board buses in Tromsø.
It takes approximately 1 hour to walk from the city centre to the Department of Geosciences. The walk itself is not demanding but it does include a few hills to climb. It also possible to rent electric scooters via Ryde.
There are several taxi ranks in the city centre and you can also pre-book your own taxi to pick you up from your hotel. It takes approximately 15 mins to get to the department from the city centre. Taxis can be pre-booked using the app Taxifix, or by ringing Tromsø Taxi (+47 03011) or Din Taxi (+47 02045). A journey from Tromsø Sentrum to UiT will cost ~NOK 280.
