We want to invite all fellow PhD candidates and Postdocs to our annual Christmas Party.

There will be food and soft drinks (alcoholic beverages can, of course, be bought).

Together with the Christmas Party we will have our general meeting that takes place twice every year.

The TODOS board will first give a short overview over its work and budget during the last 6 months, then all of you can vote the new TODOS board members and introduce suggestions to change the statutes of the organization as well as vote for them.

Every PhD candidate at UiT is a member of TODOS and can thus become a board member. Positions are elected for one year and are generally reimbursed with a certain amount of hours that can either be used as duty hours in 4-year contracts or as a contract extension in 3-year contracts (for more information please don’t hesitate to contact us at arcticdoc@uit.no!).

Please note that you are all invited to run for open board positions!

For this GM the positions of Board Chair, Chair of Academic affairs and Accountant will be open for the election and we are looking forward to seeing some new faces in the board!

Summer is (almost) over and TODOS would like to invite you to the first event this semester, the TODOS barbecue!

When: 31st of August at 15:00 pm

Where: Tromsø campus, behind the NFH building (Norwegian College of Fishery Science)

It’s time to meet up after the summer holiday, and start the tough working season with an afternoon of fun! So let’s meet for the BBQ at Friday, 31st of August from 15:00 pm, behind the NFH building. TODOS will provide hot dogs, burgers, coffee, a vegetarian alternative and some other things. If you want something special feel free to bring it with you, there will be plenty of place on the grill.

Since it will be an outdoor event, the date could change depending of the weather forecast so stay tuned to possible changes. Register here if you want to attend.

It is possible to arrive later in the evening if it suits you better, we will be there for some hours.

TODOS is an interest organization that works to improve the welfare of all PhD candidates at UiT. We focus on two important aspects of PhD life: academic work and social life/networking among PhDs. Currently we are 6 PhDs on the TODOS board that work to provide help, assistance, guidance and education throughout your PhD journey. We are also here to keep you updated on your rights and obligations as a PhD and to help you to mediate if those rights are impeded. Assoc. Prof. Annette Bayer not only researches but also supervises Career Development Plans. She will share tips & tricks on how to get started and follow up on career goals.

Professor Kenneth Ruud, prorektor Research & Development, UIT, will share his knowledge of the requirements for future researchers to succeed in a competitive academic world.

TODOS annual general meeting

The TODOS 2017 board invites all PhDs to our general meeting where we present our annual report and elect the next year’s board. This is an opportunity to become part of the TODOS board, vote for the board, and discuss about topics and ideas to be addressed by TODOS.

Research data management for PhDs: policies, responsibilities and possibilities

In addition, this year’s AGM will be combined with an interesting and relevant seminar about the new rules regarding data management plans. Starting last September, all new projects are now required to have such a plan, so our great library professionals will join and give us a brief introduction to these rules.

And last but not least, you will have a free breakfast with us. So please register here. We will stream both the seminar as well as our general meeting.
