The Syntax and Semantics of Aspect.
The two illustrious knights will be asked to address the question:
What kinds of constraints are there on crosslinguistic variation in the domain of aspectual categories, and is this a matter or morphosyntax, semantics or both? Or put another way, how is semantic variation reflected in the structural representation of aspectual categories?
The format of the Joust is as follows :Arregui: 20 minutes
Altshuler: 20 minutes
Arregui gets to pose question to Altshuler (10 min for questions and answers)
Altshuler gets to pose question to Arregui (10 min for questions and answers)
Herald Panel (Minor and Ramchand) get to pose questions to the speakers (15 min)
