Highlight: Indian Ambassador for European Research

posted in: News | 0

In a recent report from the EU Delegation to India, Balpreet Singh Ahluwalia shared his experience in living and researching in Europe as an Indian national. Ahluwalia serves a valuable role as an ERC Ambassador to India, and his testimony in the recent report shows the big impact that ERC grants can have on both the individual and on science. Aside from the report, Ahluwalia has shared his ERC experience with a multitude of aspiring researchers within Norway, India, and several other countries. He also spearheaded a multi-year program to exchange students and researchers for short-to mid-length research visits between UiT and IIT Delhi through the Indo-Norwegian Cooperation Programme, and has been welcoming additional students and researchers from India outside the program as well. His efforts have already been paying off in the nanoscopy group, as can be seen with the high caliber of Indian researchers within the group as well as through our research output, including multiple patent applications and innumerable* publications.

*Not really innumerable, but the number does increase fairly often. See the publications page to count for yourself.
